According to NPR, "Internet search leader Google will install its maps feature at some gas stations next month. About 3,500 gas pumps will be fitted with an Internet connection and a small color screen. You can type in where you want to go, and the pump will display a map. It will even print directions for you."
Wow...so, if you are lost, or if you just forgot to mapquest your route before taking off, you can get a map at the gas station. I wonder how much, if anything, this service will cost. If getting a gas station map does cost something, I think that the cost should be low; however, if you are like me, as soon as I feel like I am going in the wrong direction, I panic. When I am in panic-mode, I feel as though I would pay just about anything to get home. I think that this service is a good idea because many gas station attendents have no idea when it comes to giving directions. Sometimes, the gas station workers do not even speak English. What do you guys think about having Google maps at the pump?

I think that is great idea. Tony forgot his class reunion sheet, all he needed was a computer to go on classmates.com and we would have found the park sooner. Instead we had to call up some relatives with a computer and they did not know what to do. We end up calling Sharon my sister-in-law and she knew exactly what to do. Luckly she was home and the Hines Drive Road was open. Usually it is closed due to rain. But yes that would be very helpful.
Sincerely,
Diane
I am the same way. I do not go beyond my safety net meaning I don’t travel a lot and only to the places I been and know the place. I have to have a map that tells me turn by turn directions and someone has to explain it to me. I remember when I have to sign up for my classes in the Mt. Clemens Baker College I was terrified so what I did is I made my fiancĂ© take a trip to the college for a practice drive. I made sure I count every light, the stores/building and the mileage. By doing this it gave me a sense of security and confidence that I can make this trip without getting lost.
I agree with you Erika. I would probably pay any amount of money just to get home safely.
