Advertising

I wish that I could fast forward through all of the ads. I know that there is technology to do this, but I'm not interested in adding another thing with cords to my televison...there are too many things connected there already! Right now, my time is so precious, I don't have time for advertisements. I had so much homework tonight that I had to miss Grey's Anatomy, which is the FIRST episode I missed. Maybe if I could have just watched the 23 actual minutes of storyline without all of the commercials, I could have fit it in somehow. The advertisements are purposefully aimed at the market niche, which is why if I don't know what the ads are for, I probably shouldn't be watching the show! What I especially dislike is the repetition of ads...as if I am too stupid to get it the first time, so the ad guru's are going to show the same commercial at every break. The current overplayed commercial that is beginning to really bug me is for Pantene, "release your energy". I actually got up and turned the tv OFF a few nights ago because every 5 minutes that commercial was on again. And I have used Pantene products faithfully for years, so that ad campaign actually had the opposite effect on me!
