Hello everyone my name is Jessie Marx and I currently live in Clintontownship, but am originally from Washington state where I lived up until four years ago. I came here in August of 2003 with a blind-autistic child and his family. It was a roundtrip ticket that said, leaving Detroit Michigan September 21st, but the reason I came here was so that I could train someone to be with Camron, but after a few weeks of calling different companies his mother and I soon realized it was going to take months before someone would be qualified to take care of him. Although, my family felt differently I had decided to stay until christmas and then return home, but then that also changed and I started school in January of 2004, so that kind of kept me here long term. At first my family was very resentful and then figured out I wasn't here just for me. It is still hard, but we are all managing.

One reason I am in this class is for the same reason we all are because we have to be here, but I also look forward to learning more about the media and just how absorbed we are in it. I enjoy working on the computer and using a CD player now and again, but all the new media out there now I have no time for with my busy schedule. I believe this class is going to be very interesting and I look forward to learning how much we are all influenced by the media and how that affects our socialization skills out in public.
