Class last week was very interesting. I especially enjoyed the videos about advertising. I worked at an advertising agency in Warren for a few years but I never saw anything like we saw in the videos. I never knew how much advertising depended on people and their behaviors. Some of it made sense and then some of it seemed very far fetched. The psychologist I felt went way out on a limb in his sessions with people trying to find the special words that describe luxury in order to sell it to advertising agencies. I know that what he does wouldn't work for me because I tend to shop value instead of impulse.
We had a very good discussion about the books we read for pleasure. I learned about some books that I will add to my list of "Want to Read" for my school breaks.
