Cosmo

As I sat thinking about this assignment a stack of magazines caught my eye. I don't even know why I subscribe to them anymore because I am so busy that I practically have a years worth of them sitting around. So I thought this was a good chance to catch up on them since it was "for school". The first 20 or so pages were all ads, with a page of contents mixed in. For the most part the whole magazine is ads. They could easily cut the magazine in half if they took out all the ads. All the ads are definitely targeting women. For the most part I would say younger women 20-30 perhaps. But there are also some ads for things like wrinkle cream and other stuff that would appeal to older women who are looking through the magazine wishing they looked younger again. All the ads are catchy, colorful, with beautiful models, sexy, appealing, etc. There was a random male cologne ad here and there, but they were obviously there to appeal to the girlfriend to purchase for the boyfriend. There were definitely no car, sports, or any other "manly" ads in this magazine. They are definitely trying to portray a certain image and catch a certain audience.
