A word about the homework while I am gone.

Two orders of business.

1. it occurs to me that we did not speak about the website review (see homework, Week 4), that is, what your expectations were. In that case, do not worry about it. We will reschedule that journal prompt for later in the semester.

2. You have a newspaper analysis due for Week 6 (the week I return). All I am asking for is that you choose a newspaper (any one you want, or that you can get your hands on), read a copy (or two), then locate and peruse that newspaper's corresponding online content (for instance, examine the Detroit Free Press, and then freep.com). After youn have done that, write a brief response in your journal that deals with the disparity of coverage between the two mediums (print and online). are they the same? Different? how so? Are the ads the same? Must you subscribe to the online portion? Is the online version of the newspaper a full version or a partial version? These are some examples of the kinds of questions you can deal with. It doesn't need to be long, just enough to help us facilitate a discussion during Week 6 when I return.
