The next best thing!
I was listening to the radio and an advertisement came on about all the media that children are using now; It was kind of ironic because I wrote a little about this in my paper, but it was saying that all the young generation is carrying around cell phones, ipods, mp3 players and cd players, but now they have a new phone (the next best thing) called the Kilt and all of these things are built into it, so you're not carrying all the extra stuff around. Yes, this is convenient , but do we need twelve and thirteen year olds begging their parents to get these phones and then abusing the priveleges that come along with it. First of all I don't think that children should have all of these things because there isn't enough restrictions on them. Therefore it is allowing children to be subject to the violence and negativity that the media portrays. Especially if the parents are continuing to buy them. This ad completely is made for the younger generation and granted I don't think 28 is old, but I don't need all those things, so why do school-aged children? Isn't there first priority school not media, and worrying about the next best thing

It is not the children fault. Both parents work. The family social circle is changing. The childeren today need a cell phone. Just so that they don't get left at school. Some band directors say that they are going to be back and school and they are not. Why not have a cool cell phone to boot?
I did not approve of cell phone either and I felt sorry for Brenda when she offer my daughter her plan. I was very uncomfortable about it. I kept saying are you sure? My daughter is now on Brenda's fav 5 plan and my daughter is on the phone every day. They needed to use the minutes. They are using up their minutes. Brenda, needed a fourth person to get the plan for the best price. For my daughter's birthday they put her on their plan and gave her phone. It is really cool. It has voice mail, a pager, she can download music and it plays a lot of games. It is just fun, and if I had the money I would also invest in one. I love music. I do not bring my CD everywhere I go. I forget it most of the time. Sometimes I forget that I even have one. I would like to take my CD player with me on bike rides. if I remember it.
