Last night I watched Sunday night football, Chicago Bears against Green Bay. And my team Green Bay lost L. Anyway, I’ve started noticing the commercials during the game all seem to be about the same things; credit cards, cars, and upcoming movies. For every break there were at least two different kinds of car commercial such as Silverado, Mercedes’ Benz, and Mustang. The credit card like American Express, it informed the audiences how spending money earn you sky miles. I believed that the commercial were aimed straight for the younger generation of viewers, more working people are home at night these advertisement beg us to get out there and buy.
The purpose of advertising has also changed. Advertising used to informed the audience where and when to buy a product. Today, advertisers try to persuade the audience to buy a product. Advertisers also try to persuade the consumer that their particular product is better than the others. This means that if the consumer chooses their product, it will make the life of the consumer easier.
I believed that television viewers respond to this ideal and not only want to possess the products advertised, but also wish to be like the people in the commercials. Audiences often envy these characters and desire their beauty, self-confidence, and self-satisfaction. I believed that advertising company’s main purpose is to sell their product and not to inform the consumer abou the product.

I think you make a good point. The advertisers do draw the viewers towards the idea of how to look and what they need in order to be successful. I think they also send a message as to what we need even if we don't really need it. The implication is there.
